Monkeypox Virus (MPXV) primarily occurs in central and west Africa. The virus is a viral zoonosis with symptoms similar to those seen in the past in smallpox patients. Monkeypox is a disease of global public health importance as it affects not only countries in west and central Africa but the rest of the world. Therefore, a rapid and accurate diagnosis of MPXV is necessary to make quick and accurate decisions about treatment.
BioeXsen Monkeypox Virus qPCR Kit is a reverse transcription and real-time PCR (RT-qPCR) test intended for the qualitative detection of the DNA and mRNA from the Monkeypox Virus. The kit allows the achievement of RT-qPCR results in 55 minutes (Run time may vary depending on the instrument).

Validated equipment and devices
Bio-Speedy® vNAT® Transfer Tube (Catalog No: BS-NA-513-100), vNAT® Transfer Tube (Catalog No: BS-NA-513m-100), vNAT® BABAA Transfer Tube (Catalog No: BS-NA-513b-100) and BioeXsen vNAT® Buffer (Catalog No: T00011/T00012/T00008/T00010) for the transfer of skin lesion swab samples and the release of nucleic acids from respiratory tract swab samples. The kit is validated with BioeXsen 5min NA (Catalog No: BX-NA-514) for the release of nucleic acids from skin lesion swab samples and Zybio EXM3000 Nucleic Acid Isolation System (Model No: EXM3000) for the nucleic acid extraction from skin lesion swab samples. Both dry swabs and swabs placed in Bio-Speedy® vNAT® Transfer Tube, vNAT® Transfer Tube, and vNAT® BABAA Transfer Tube are validated.
CFX96 Touch™/CFX96™ Dx/CFX Opus 96™/CFX Opus 96™ Dx (Bio-Rad), QuantStudio™ 5, 0.1 mL/QuantStudio™ 5 Dx, 0.1 mL (Applied Biosystems™), and Magnetic Induction Cycler (Mic) (Bio Molecular System - BMS) Real-Time PCR systems equipped with the FAM and HEX detection channels.
